HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I've had a wonderful time over Christmas and the New Year and hope you all have too. All the usual family things up to and during Christmas Day and then it was off to The Royal Hotel in Ventnor on the Isle of Wight on Boxing Day. This was followed by a few days at home and then back to the Isle of Wight and The Seaview Hotel, Seaview to bring in 2018. On both occasions I was accompanied by the Leon Simmonds Trio.
On Sunday 14th January I was with the multi award winning Fat Chops Big Band in Moseley, Birmingham. I took the opportunity to introduce a couple of new charts and it was the first time I had sung them before an audience. I knew that the band would rise to the occasion - and they did!
I have another big band gig coming up. This time with John Ellis and the Doncaster Youth Jazz Orchestra on Friday 2nd February 2018. I shall also be taking a vocal masterclass the following day at the Doncaster Jazz Centre - further details on the diary page, including links to their website.
I'll be working with Hugh Ockendon and his trio and a special guest (to be announced) on Thursday 22nd February at Eltham Warren Golf Club. I've sung there before and it's a lovely crowd - I'm looking forward to being back.
Lunchtime on Sunday 11th March sees me back at Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club performing songs associated with Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald in the stellar company of Mark Nightingale, John Pearce, Paul Morgan and Bobby Worth. These Sunday lunchtime gigs at Ronnies are extremely popular so do book early.
I've mentioned that we've taken delivery of more copies of my CD with Fat Chops entitled 'Frim Fram Sauce'. These will be available at gigs or may also be purchased via the website. If you'd like a copy please let us know - they are selling fast!
If you'd like to get in touch, please use the Contact page - which can also be used for other CD enquiries. We do our very best to answer any messages as soon as we possibly can.
That’s all for now. Have a wonderful Christmas and a very happy, healthy and peaceful New Year.
